Your Online Presence...What You Need Beyond the Website

After your site goes live, you may think you that's all you need, but there other important steps required ti insure a successful online presence! To make the most of all the hard work that everyone put into creating the site, you need to make sure that processes are put in place to regularly maintain the site, setting up security monitors, backup scheduling, configuration of stats and caching programs, automating post broadcasts, activating Jetpack, testing contact forms, and prepping your site with search engine optimization. Many of these steps are completed after a site is live and DNS has fully propagated. This session will outline the steps I have personally used to successfully launch over 200 WordPress sites.

Thank you Suzette and Glenn! Am very glad I went and found it very helpful. I look forward to the next one! Also, I'm on a volunteer team at church that's been tasked to redesign the church's website. We're thinking about using Wordpress. One of the questions that came up was: Does Wordpress support Audio and Video streaming? Do you recommend any plug-ins for this capability, or websites and resources to help us learn how to do this? Thanks for all your help!

Thanks Suzette, great presentation! It was especially helpful to discover there are reliable plugins that will handle some of the things I've been doing manually.

On my way now, may be a few minutes late depending on how evil traffic is. Also, does anyone have a dongle for Mac? If not, I can access my slides on the Internet or I have a flash drive. The presentation is in keynote or PDF. Looking forward to seeing you all and I am bringing cookies!

I look forward to Suzette's talk and seeing everyone. Sadly, this will be my last VCWP for now. My wife and I are moving up to Berkeley this month. It's been great being part of this group over the last year!
