Plaza Mexican Grill: Conversation, Dinner & Drinks

This is a weekly meetup for dinner and conversation in Spanish. All levels welcome; however, generally we try to maintain the conversation in Spanish. This week, we are going to be at Plaza Mexican Grill located in the campus area.

The Plaza Mexican Grill is set up like Chipotle. Everyone orders their food and then pays a cashier before being seated. The restaurant serves margaritas and beers. These can be paid for at the register, or if you plan on having a few drinks, a tab can be opened.

Information on Plaza Mexican Grill follows:

Plaza Mexican Grill

1644 North High Street

The restaurant is on the corner of High Street and Chittenden. It is in the building where The New York Pizza Department used to be. (It is about 5 storefronts away from Fito's, one of our previous meeting spots when it was open).

A note on parking:

There is a parking garage about a block south off of high street. I believe that it is $1 an hour to park there. If parking on the street, be careful of any posted restrictions.

Also note: Although this building is set up about 8 steps, there is a wheelchair ramp to get into the building.

The restaurant does not accept reservations, but I spoke to a manager about our group. He said that Wednesdays are generally not busy and it is fine for us to stay for several hours chatting. It is still extremely helpful that you RSVP if you are attending so that when we get there we can do our best to section off an appropriate number of seats for our group.

Side note: The first meetup at this location was unusually busy from the restaurnt's standpoint. They catered an event for about 70 OSU students. in the future, there should not be such a crowd. The meetup was also unusually busy from a Spanish group standpoint as well with over 30 people having RSVP'ed. In the future we should have better arrangements in terms of space. And again, if our group is going to be very large, it is very helpful to know in advance. So if you can RSVP when you know you will be attending, that would be appreciated. (most people are currently RSVPing in the 24 hour period ahead of time...)

Sorry I will not be able to attend. It is a tad bit too far since I don't know the area. Please let me know when you have the next day time one. Looking forward to attending and meeting everyone.
