Could it have been Cathy and her husband, Cathy who shared the website   http://www.cpi-edu.com/  re: education in Costa Rica?
Wait! There's this, too, from August 2011:

 Mensaje a todos,

For those of you, who are sincerely interested in spending a few weeks in a Spanish-speaking country, I can recommend Antigua in Guatemala. I have done it three times and will go again in February. Flight from Columbus to GUA appr $400 - $500. Daily cost of accommodation in a beautiful home with nice room and shower, including 3 meals a day: $25.- 4 hours of instruction with a private teacher (no group), 5 days a week: $80. After 3 weeks, you will speak with ease. In addition, Antigua is a lovely place to spend a few weeks.

Anybody interested in wanting to learn more, contact me.

Jenny,

The couple you are referring to came to our group once but I can't remember their names.  They were retired and the husband had been a doctor.  They paid, I believe, around $179/month for room, board, and private tutoring 5 hours a day.  It was in a provincial town, not the capital.  It sounded great, but I was not in the market for it, so I didn't make mental notes of the details.

Subject: [spanish-891] Who has done a Language Study Program in Guatemala (or other Hispanic countries)

Hi all:
I seem to remember someone telling me about a language program that they did in Guatemala:  where private lessons were provided daily, as well as room & board/meals included in the price.  I can't remember who was telling me about the program they did, but I think it was over a year ago.  (My recollection of the conversation is that it took place in the Panera in Westerville) but that is all I remember.

At any rate, if you have done this type of program (in Guatemala or elsewhere) and want to share your experience with me, that would be great.  I'm looking into information to pass along to others.

Thanks

Jenny
