Empathy Café: Practicing Deep, Non-judgmental Listening

This free 90-minute gathering, led by Marie Boozer (pictured), is for people who wish to learn and practice deep listening, or "empathy," as we see it in Compassionate Communication: A quality of presence that enables another person to feel deeply heard and seen.

People of all experience levels are welcome to this gathering, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners. We will have a brief presentation, a demonstration, and then give everyone a chance to practice giving and/or receiving empathy.

You will also have a chance to get to know other people with shared interests, build community, and practice the skills with other participants.

About the host:

Marie Boozer, has a Ph.D. in Language Education from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) and has been an educator since 1985.  Marie was the Program Coordinator of the M.A. program of the Ohio State University School of Teaching and Learning for seven years.  Marie taught at public schools for ten years and founded the Indianola Children’s Center.  She is a parent of two children and has been studying Nonviolent Communication since 2006.

Guys - I am just not feeling well today. I am going to go home and go to bed frightfully early.
