Singing together is such a powerful act. It heals and strengthens our spirits and unites our hearts in community. Wesley Fellowship invites you to join us for an evening of Sufi devotional singing and movement. Zikr means "remembrance," and we'll practice together using song to remind us that God is always present in everything and every moment, using sacred chants from the Islamic tradition. The songs and movements are easy to learn and no experience is required to participate in this heart-opening practice of touching the Divine that is in ourselves and all around.
This is also an opportunity to stand together in affirmation of the beauty and value of the Islamic tradition and express our support for Muslims living in America.
This is a free and open gathering and everyone is welcome to attend. We're also inviting donations of $5-$10, or whatever feels good to you, which will go to the Muslim Advocates organization, which defends civil and religious liberties of Muslims in America.
This gathering is facilitated by Angela Gayan Galik and friends. All ages and faiths are welcome!
