Squidwrench Expo

This will be a full Squidwrench expo, but also a dry run for the May 11th expo, which will be during Highland's SpringFest.

If you haven't been to a Squidwrench meeting at our new Highland location, now is the perfect time to come and check it out.

We have the following activities planned, feel free to participate in all or none of these:

-Sandblasting
We will have the sandblaster going, with precut vinyl stickers used to etch glasses. The glasses are for sale, $10 for a glass you sandblast yourself, $15 for a pre-sand blasted glass.

-Hula Hoop Making
We will be making hula hoops that you can decorate, available for $15 each

-Bed Frame Race
We will be working on a bed frame for the bed frame race that will be held on May 11th during SpringFrest. We need volunteers to help decorate and create a frame, as well as four contestants to run with the frame during the actual race and one to sit on said frame. It was great to see kids taking an interest, working with and learning from adults, taking something from a concept to software to intermediate steps to non- computer old technology to a finished product. They learned a lot and were obviously having a great time. There is nothing like some hands on time to learn, build skills and build confidence.

Going to really try and make it and bring my son - he still has a glass he would like to etch if we can use our own and still pay for the privilege!

I can contribute four bike wheels to the cause, if I get the hubs back...
