3D Printing Practicum (before Code and Movie night)

Instructor : Ed Nisley

Third Thursday of every month
6:30 to 7:30
Cost: $10

Now that you've read about 3D printing, watched those (time-lapse!) videos, and want to try it out, how do you get started?

These informal monthly sessions will help you build a printable solid model, export it as an STL file, slice an STL file into G-Code, and use the Frank-O-Squid (Squidwrench's resident 3D printer!) to produce a warm plastic object.

If none of that makes any sense, that's why you should attend!

Each session will cover whatever subjects come up, so bring all your questions and leave with answers.

Hello! Finally making it to a session (I've been trying to get over to the space for the past year, but, with 1 year old twins, time is short :)). Any chance of modeling a quick part and trying out a print? I have a small warped plastic piece that holds a piece of a kitchen cabinet in that's absolutely ideal for a 3D print. No caliper on hand so I can't model it prior to this evening but I'll bring it and maybe we can see what it would would take? Anyway, glad to finally get over there (I'm just over in New Paltz) and introduce myself.

Look forward to meeting you. :) No promises that you'll be able to print anything tonight since the process takes some time. But you'll one step closer to a unbroken cabinet
