• Community Entrepreneurship

Our Lady of the Angels Church

Typically, we think of entrepreneurs being in the private sector, but innovators also exist in the nonprofit and government sectors. We are celebrating 25 years of community entrepreneurs, who founded the Randolph Area Community Development Corporation. This event is marked with an inspiring talk by Dominic Cloud, City Manager, St. Albans who will speak on "Harnessing the Power of Public/Private Partnerships for Downtown Redevelopment". In order to cultivate entrepreneurship in Vermont, we need strong cities and towns that cultivate public/private partnerships. Over the last ten years Dominic Cloud has directed the comprehensive redevelopment of St. Albans from his position as City Manager. Under his tenure the City has demonstrated the power of forming public / private partnerships to advance economic development projects. This approach has increased the City’s tax base by $80 million. Streetscape improvements, a parking garage, and brownfield cleanup have paved the way for a new office building and a Hampton Inn. Current initiatives include a $20 million mixed-use project with 60 units of mixed income housing and a new 25,000 square foot commercial building on Main Street. Join us in celebrating RACDC's 25th Anniversary Year!

**Special Meeting** A special sneak preview benefit event for Bradford's exciting new nonprofit community coworking, maker, and gathering space, The Space On Main (thespaceonmain.org). The Space On Main will be a community gathering space providing rooms of varying sizes and purposes designed to host coworking (office sharing), networking events, hands-on Maker projects, conferences, meetings, training programs, social events, as well as educational classes for all demographics. We need the help of the community to raise $10,000 by August 31st. Monique Priestly will share further details at this event on July 24th, and will be hosting a tour of The Space. Local wine (3 Sisters Vineyard), beer (River Roost Brewery), and refreshments (Blythedale Farm & Crossmolina Farm) will be provided. Invite your friends!
