  • Growth: Increase YouTube revenue by 10x (Video Meetup)
We will work on a typical Google 10x question. How would you increase YouTube revenue by 10x? When asked a 10x question, the Google interviewer wants to see whether you can think of breakthrough and ambitious ideas that, if realized, would change the market game. Traditional strategy/consulting frameworks (increase market share through competitive features, growth through acquisitions, innovations, or promotions) are too high level and will not lead to finding breakthrough insights. PREPARATION: 1. Research YouTube—its diverse products, revenue models, ad formats, types of content, etc. 2. Answer the following questions so that you have enough information to tackle this problem during the meetup: • Users: Who uses YouTube? (consumers, advertisers, content creators, who else?) • Consumers: Why do they use YouTube? When do they use YouTube? Where do they use YouTube? How do they want to consume YouTube? • Advertisers: Why do they advertise on YouTube? • Content creators: Who are they? Why do they upload content to YouTube? 3. Some good articles to help you think of new ways of approaching this 10x problem: • "First Principles Thinking for PMs and Entrepreneurs" (https://medium.com/pm-insights/first-principles-thinking-for-pms-and-entrepreneurs-182fd6e2b418) • "How to Build Products That Are 10x Better Than the Competition" (https://www.usertesting.com/blog/10x-products/) • "Product Management from First Principles" (https://medium.com/science-not-ego/product-management-from-first-principles-486a33645e9a) • "Creating a Culture of Innovation" (https://gsuite.google.co.in/intl/en_in/learn-more/creating_a_culture_of_innovation.html) *** GOOGLE HANGOUT LINK *** • PARTICIPANT LINK (people that signed up): The link will be posted in the COMMENTS section 15 minutes before the meetup starts. • People on Waiting List can observe at: (https://www.stellarpeers.com/videos/) We do introductions before we start recording, which usually takes 10–15 minutes. • Alumni Guest—From engineer to first time PM at a different company (VideoMeetup)
Have you been trying to transition into a product management role as an engineer? Many companies are hesitant to hire someone that has not had the title of PM for a product management role. In this meetup, Jacky will share his interview preparation strategy and what worked for him to make the transition. *** GOOGLE HANGOUT LINK *** • PARTICIPANT LINK (people that signed up): The link will be posted in the COMMENTS section 15 minutes before the meetup starts. • People on Waiting List can observe at: (https://www.stellarpeers.com/videos/) We do introductions before we start recording, which usually takes 10–15 minutes.
