• Sketching Graphics with Clojure Quil
There was some side talk about about doing computer graphics with Clojure/ClojureScript at the last meetup. We'll continue that side thread more formally at the November meeting and have a discussion on introducing and using Quil (http://quil.info/) . Please visit the #lisp channel on the StL Tech Slack (https://stltech.org/), or the #clojure-stl channel on Clojurians-Zulip (http://clojurians.zulipchat.com/) for the latest news regarding the meetup. The Google Meet link to attend virtually is: http://meet.google.com/rrg-tcbv-gcq . Again, please let us know beforehand if you're attending (either physically or virtually) so that we can make a proper food estimate for the night. Hope to see you there!

  • Clojure Fundamentals: Multimethods, Protocols, & Records
There've been recent discussions to get to back to more introductory clojure topics. As such, our next meet up will be about introducing and better-appreciating clojure's multimethods, protocols, and records. • Tic-Tac-Toe: The DSL edition
At the last meetup we completed work on creating simple a tic-tac-toe game with clojure & clojurescript as a group (https://github.com/stlclojure/web-tac-toe). Afterwards, we had some discussion about developing DSLs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain-specific_language) and thought it would be an interesting idea to rework the tic-tac-toe game as a DSL. Hopefully, the group exercise will give everyone a better appreciation of the pros & cons of developing and working with DSLs. The Google Meet link to attend virtually is: http://meet.google.com/rrg-tcbv-gcq . Again, please let us know beforehand if you're attending (either physically or virtually) so that we can make a proper food estimate for the night. Hope to see you there!

  • General Hack Night
The last meetup was skipped due to a sudden storm; so we'll try to redo June in July. At the last attended meetup, on a spur, we started working on creating simple a tic-tac-toe game with clojure & clojurescript as a group (https://github.com/stlclojure/web-tac-toe). If there's still groupwide interest we'll continue on with the tic-tac-toe game, or have a general hacking and discussion night.

  • Intro to Clojure/ClojureScript webapp/game development - Part 3
Over the next few meetups, we'll attempt to go through Parens of the Dead (http://www.parens-of-the-dead.com/) together as a group. If you're interested in actively participating feel free to bring a laptop; otherwise, we'll go through the development process together on a projection screen. No prior clojure/clojurescript experience is necessary and newcomers are most welcome! We plan to adjust the pace of progress and development depending on the audience. After a short review of the last meetup, we tentatively plan on going through episode 3 (and maybe 4) of the video series. Please try to let us know beforehand if you're going to attend; this will allow us to calculate how much food to order for the meeting. There will be a Google Hangout (https://meet.google.com/mpn-cpav-vxp) for those who can't physically attend, but there is a 25 person limit. The hangout will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We plan to open up the hangout at 6:30PM CDT.
