What we’re about

New VIRTUAL LAUNCH!!! Welcome one and ALL to the Stock Investing group!

We had TREMENDOUS success with this as an in-person group for 3-4 years in a row. Now relaunching as a virtual Meetup.

This group is, and always has been, about empowering individuals to become successful in building wealth through stock investing.  We seek to answer one fundamental question: which stocks have a reason to increase in price - and why?

Invest your time to LEARN, before your invest your money to EARN.

While there are many resources available (too many!) via the web on stock investing, most have a bias or limitation in what they present to you. We aim to be an independent, unbiased and credible source of investing education. You will be exposed to topics here that you will not see elsewhere, presented in a compelling way to capture your attention and drive you to action!

    Core Topics

Identifying your investment style (growth, value, dividend/income, momentum, etc.)
Learn investment analysis techniques (fundamental analysis, valuation, technical analysis, quantitative methods)
    Stock screening ("recipes")
    Analyzing stocks for your portfolio
    Building a portfolio
    Developing risk management strategies
    Measuring portfolio results
Stock Indices and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

The "Big 4" stock brokerage platforms and tools (Charles Schwab, Fidelity, TD Ameritrade, E*Trade; but there are many more options available)

    Advanced Topics

Using stock options to make money on the price increase or decrease in a stock price.
    Hedging
Shorting stocks (making money if the stock decreases in price)
    Back testing stock strategies (powerful!!)
Reviewing upcoming Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and reviewing recent IPOs
Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) vs. owning & investing in real-estate directly
    Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs)
