Storytelling Workshop
Bring a story you are working on. Each will have an opportunity to share a brief story and gain reflections from others about it. (A) If you are writing and it is short, bring copies to share temporarily during the session, if you are looking for feedback and suggestions. Best is if it is just a draft. Participants will follow along as you read it to others, offering observations, feedback, suggestions either on the copies or in conversation. Participants are to return copies at the end of the day's session and the story's author retains ownership. Suggestions and ideas for improvement are freely given to the story's author. (B) If you are presenting with spoken word for the purpose of practicing delivery, you will be given the opportunity to share a short story or scene. Participants will offer observations, feedback, and suggestions in conversation, keeping in mind the context in which you are preparing to present it. You are also encouraged to make a written copies to share temporarily with the group, to afford the best opportunity for helpful feedback and suggestions, including written comments. Same sharing rules above apply as for writers. (C) If you presenting a story through song, you are welcome to sing/rap with an acoustic instrument. Participants will offer observations, feedback, and suggestions in conversation, keeping in mind the context in which you are preparing to present it. You are also encouraged to make written copies to share temporarily with the group, to afford the best opportunity for helpful feedback and suggestions, including written comments. Same sharing rules above apply as for writers.
