The City of London, commonly known as the 'Square Mile', is a small part of London itself and an architecture lover's dream with iconic buildings such as 30 St Mary Axe AKA 'The Gherkin', the Leadenhall Building AKA 'The Cheesegrater' and Lloyds of London AKA, er, Lloyds of London!
Our first visit will be to the Sky Garden on the top floor of 20 Fenchurch Street AKA 'The Walkie-Talkie' for our first mini-project photographing man in the context of the architecture of this unusual skyscraper garden. Our visit is booked in advance, time limited and subject to strict entry rules (including the necessity to show ID).
Afterwards we hit ground level to tackle the second project of the day capturing man amidst the skyscrapers of the 'Square Mile'.
Workshops involve a briefing and are focussed on creative composition and aimed at challenging beginner to intermediate photographers, but all levels and all cameras are very welcome! The group tends to be a great mix of levels and is very welcoming, fun and friendly. Leave zoom lenses at home, pack a wide angle lens if you have one, and dress to blend in with the crowds.
Afterwards we’ll find a cosy pub or cafe to compare experiences. Then once you have chosen your best THREE shots and posted them on this page you will receive feedback on your work!
