Writers' Circle at Studio Kash

You are invited to join our Writers’ Circle at Studio Kash, where each week we explore different
facets of creative writing in a supportive atmosphere. Join us in a cozy, candlelit space for an
intimate workshop where visual art meets creative writing. Together, we’ll explore NYC-based paintings as prompts and have the opportunity to share in a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and connection.
First: Settle in amidst the candles with tea and wine. Then: The instructor offers a compelling prompt, and for a time, everyone writes. Of course, whether you choose to share your writing is up to you. Next: A brief interlude to converse and enjoy refreshments. Finally: The writing process begins again.
No pressure, no outside noise (cells on DND, please), only the quiet thrill of creation.
Whatever your preferred form—poetry, fiction, or non-fiction—this series is designed to spark ideas and deepen your personal practice. Leave inspired, with fresh writing, and, who knows, maybe even a new friend!
This week’s theme draws inspiration directly from our studio location, a functional art gallery in the heart of Northport, NY. For this workshop, we let artwork serve as inspiration, inviting you to explore the moods, stories, and hidden emotions within each piece. Our goal is not merely to describe what we see in the painting, but engage with it in a creative way—answer a question it can’t speak aloud, describe what it feels like inside the scene, or imagine what is just outside of the walls of the frame.
Feel the thrill of your pen rushing to capture what the artwork can’t say for itself. It’s a way to hone our observational skills as writers and unlock fresh ideas. Every prompt is an invitation to find your voice, experiment with perspective, or discover unexpected directions for your work. For this session, art becomes a partner, a provocateur, and a doorway into stories you didn’t know you had inside.
Each first time attendee receives a personalized Notebook and pen for Writer's Circle at Studio Kash sessions, which they are welcomed ot bring to following sessions. Wine, tea, and other tasty refreshments are available during the session.
