    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love Black & White Photography and I'm know I'm not the only one.

Let's get together and dive into the fundamentals of black and white photography using one light.

There is something about black and white photography that I truly love. The simplicity, approach and results that I get using a one light set up are certainly worth sharing.

During this intensive workshop, we will be working with a model who assist us while I demonstrate how I use my "go to" modifiers/light shaping tools.

You don't need to have an elaborate set-up in your garage/studio/basement in order to achieve the images I've showcased here.

I love photography and when I'm not shooting or retouching, I really enjoy being around those who are invested in this craft. Although beginners are welcome, this in-depth workshop is designed for intermediate level photographers.

This is what we'll be up to:

    Breakdown modifiers
Let's dive deep into the light shaping tools into the studio to understand the differences and the desired look we get when using:

    Beauty Dish
    Beauty Dish w/Grid + Sock
    Deep Octabox (playing with diffusion)
    Large Parabolic
    Basic Reflectors
    Basic Reflectors w/Grid

    Using Modifiers w/ Model
We're really fortunate to have access to some great talent in the city. During this hour, let's go ahead and fire off some comparisons as we tether to understand what kind of results we achieve when using a particular modifier.

    Posing & Shooting & Coffee
By now, everyone will have a certain look that they love so we'll revisit set-ups as per our own creative preference. Each photographer will work with the model for 30 minutes. During this time, I'll provide some insight to posing and tips on interacting with the model.

****In the event that you do not own a DSLR, feel free to use my gear and if you do own a DSLR and still rather use mine, you are more than welcome. I shoot with a 5D Mark III + 85mm 1.2 L-Series Canon + 50mm Sigma DG 1.4 + Other lenses that I don't know why I bothered purchasing. We will discuss gear in brief as well during the course of the evening but the main focus will be light modification/distribution/fall.*****

Please note that this is an intense workshop that may not finish at the specified time. I own/manage the studio so there are no constraints as such.

You are more than welcome to use the images for your own portfolio. Standard model release will be provided.

I am happy to accept credit card payments or interact e-transfer. No PayPal. For those who wish to pay by credit card, please send me a request and I will share a Square payment invoice that allows you to pay online.
