I can still make it, but down to host and myself. Thinking maybe we could wait a week or 2 to regroup... Or after Christmas?

we had a family event pop up. will not be able to attend.
I don't think 4 people will be enough to accomplish anything tomorrow.....hate to be a wet blanket but I think we need a larger group.

well, 4 out of 731 is better than zero. Hope to be able to meet you tomorrow.
Since this would be my first event with your group, and this is a voting meeting, should I just wait for another meetup? I'm not big on eating in a group anyway

This is a first mtg for everyone; to say what topics to schedule.
I sincerely wish I was able to attend this meeting! Unfortunately, I am out of town for the holiday. I will keep in touch and hopefully be able to participate in future plannings and things!

so explain the potluck. What part is being provided or are we to all bring eats, drinks and table settings?
0 · November 18
I will bring table settings and drinks, as well as my covered dish... that way people only have to bring their fav foods to share.
Next: Invite friends
The goal of the group is to collectively figure out how to make the term "Suburban Sustainability" into something that's not an oxymoron.
We will be organizing the topics around the concept of "suburban homesteading."
Topics may include how to make your own homemade goods, like toothpaste and deodorant or how to compost, how to garden, how to raise chickens, etc.
The goal is to bring these skills into suburbia and urbia.
This group is for Do It Yourselfers who don't remember how to do much of anything .... but want to re-learn.
The skills required for "homesteading" have been lost in just a few short generations. Your great-grandmother likely knew how to can, sew, garden, raise chickens and a slew of other useful skills.
You and I know how to sit at computers, make money, spend money, drive cars, and in general, have Mastered the Art of Knowing How to Do Nothing Practical.
Let's get together to change that.
Each of us wanna-be's knows at least one practical skill. Let's get together to teach that skill to the group so that gradually, we all re-learn what we all collectively have forgotten.
