01/10/2026, Save the date! 21 miles +/- Overnighter. High Bluff Camp Site.
Details
RISKS: YOUR RSVP TO ATTEND A "SUNCOAST OUTDOORS " SPONSORED EVENT IS YOUR EXPRESS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING AND UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE OF FULL PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR ALL ASSOCIATED RISKS.
Possible risks from participation include but are not limited to:
Injury from a trip & fall, venomous snakes, stinging insects, venomous spiders, wildlife encounters, heat stroke, noxious vegetation, weather related injury, insect or airborne transmissible virus and disease, smoke inhalation, wildfire, falling trees. This list is not all inclusive.
My hiking philosophy: I hike the trail in the condition that it is at the time of the hike. If the trail is dry my feet stay dry. If the trail is wet and/or covered in water, my feet and maybe my pants get wet. Please be willing to make the commitment to completing this hike before you RSVP. Hope to see you on the trail!
Past Events: I led this hike for the first time last season and it was a great success according to those that participated regardless of the destruction from Milton we had to navigate around and through. I expect it will be less grueling this time around as recovery activities have been ongoing and trail conditions have improved.
Hike Rating: Rated as difficult due to distance, duration (2 days) and possible trail conditions. This hike may be ideal for a novice hiker that has had some overnight backpacking adventures and wants to gain more experience.
RSVP opens on or about 12/11/2025 after camp site reservations have been confirmed. There is a limit on the number of participants due to SWFWMD and FL State Forest camping permits. You can join the wait list now to let others know you are interested in this event.
This will be rain or shine, 21 miles +/-, two-day out & back hike to High Bluff camp site. The hiking pace will be "hike your own hike".
