Ed,

The rain finally stopped, so we got the kids out for a walk and knocked on your door.  Hopefully, we will catch you next time.  I hope all has been well!

Hi all,

As many of you know we had 70 members attend Sushi X Tuesday.  The event was great except we had a little glitch when it came to collecting for dinner.  As you can well imagine, whenever there are that many people it can get very confusing.

To avoid this in the future, whenever we have a fixed price event, either Joel or I (or a "volunteer") will be at a desk where you will be asked to check in as you enter the restaurant.  We will sign you in, collect for the dinner (and be sure to make arrangements for credit card payments for those who prefer plastic) and then either stamp your hand or give you a bracelet to wear during dinner.  I think the hand stamp is the better idea but we shall see.

This will certainly make it easier on your Leadership team (who pick up any shortfalls)  on the restaurant who now has to deal only with beverages, and even on the people attending who can then leave whenever they want and not worry about whom to pay.

Our next Meetup is in the works for September 8 at the Bangkok Thai Bistro in COLONIE (their new location).  Once this is formalized it will be posted.

For those of you who could not make Sushi X, look at the Reviews to see what you missed.  And we missed you.  We are rapidly getting to the point where we may have to schedule 2 Meetups at a time to accommodate this rapidly growing group.  I look forward to that day.

Places we are looking to repeat are Sushi Tei (Guilderland) where we had our very first Meetup in September 2007 (and a few there since), Shanghai Grill (Loudonville), and we are taking requests.  This is YOUR group.  Thank you all for making this Meetup one of the more successful ones in the Meetup family.

Best wishes to all,

Ed
