NetBeans + JavaFX = NetBeans FX

The presentation focusses on how to transplant good patterns and AP's (including implementations) from an existing Swing based RIA framework to a new JavaFX frontend. Challenges will be discussed, solution strategies presented and a prototype for a real world large scale modular application framework using NetBeans plumbing and FX graphics will be shown.

Sven Reimers, based in southern Germany, is senior expert software architect at ND SatCom Defence GmbH. He has more than 15 years experience building complex software systems, and more than 12 years experience working with Java, going back to the early Java days. Reimers is the winner of a 2009 Duke‘s Choice Award in the Network Solutions category for ND SatCom Satellite Communication Management Software. His achievements for NetBeans got him elected a NetBeans Dream Team member in 2008. Since 2009 Reimers is a Community Leader for NetBeans and Desktop Java at java.net, and at present a member of the NetBeans Governance Board. Besides being an active member of the JavaFX community, Reimers is a frequent contributor to local and global Java events—speaking, and taking part in panel discussions or Hands-on Labs.

Seating for in person attendees will be limited.
