I read last weekend's 4-star Tribune review calling production "genius" and who couldn't use a laugh so I added it to my list. Only plays on Weds. nights so picked closing night. Tickets sold out for March, going quickly for April...so suggest if interested to move on purchase quickly. Doesn't start until 8 pm but want to leave no later than 7 from my house (I will email you all info & my cell number).
guessing this small comedy will fully prepare me for Book of Mormon in June!
The Tomkat Project (RT: about 2 hrs! tried to reduce this picture, unsuccessfully...sry!)
A play that transcends the tabloids to discover the truth behind the marriage of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and The Church of Scientology. Oh, and it's a comedy. On June 29th, 2012, thirty-three year old American Actress, (and fashion designer), Katie Holmes made a phone (http://www.the-playground.com/group/1742) call to a film set in Iceland to speak with her husband, fifty year old American Actor Tom Cruise. This would be her first divorce and the third for him. Based on actual interviews, (and completely imagined scenes), seven actors portray 54 characters including Oprah Winfrey, David Miscavige, Matt Lauer, Scarlet Johansson, Josh Hartnett, Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone, Cruise/Wagner Partner Paula Wagner, Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman and Suri. After selling out their entire run at Upstairs Gallery, (before even opening the show!), the cast of The Tomkat Project is excited as hell to bring a remount to The Playground Theater. Theater: (general seating so everyone can be seated together. Will seek seats when doors open for optimal options!)
3209 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60657 (773)[masked]http://www.the-playground.com/
Tickets: $16.20 total cost ($15.00 + fees through their website ticket seller "brown paper tickets")
TICKETS : https://www.brownpapertickets.com/user/manageevent/356012
For anyone interested (but not in carpooling with me), important to note
theater said they have deal with "fitness formula club" across street at 3228 N. Halsted parking lot for $5 parking for 4 hrs. with pass you get at theater. This is a congested area, you might be lucky with street parking...I often am but never count on it. (and pls. --follow my suit if driving--use mapquest, GPS or actual MAP for directions as well as consult CTA/RTA and Metra websites if using public transportation well beforehand)
if attending, please do NOT RSVP yes until ticket is purchased (also....no is not needed)! thank you!!-
last but not least.....(Rave) REVIEWS:
