The Sydney St Patrick's Day Festival is one of the top five biggest in the world (New York, Dublin, Boston, London and Sydney). There's a parade followed by thousands of people packing into Hyde Park for an Irish festival and entertainment.
You can join us to watch the parade at 12pm or meet up with us afterwards in the park.

How to find us
So that people can find us, we'll post up on the event wall exactly where we are during the parade and festival.
Designated meeting point is the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park (http://goo.gl/maps/4MGKF), just look for the red, white & blue balloons. We'll send someone to gather latecomers with an American flag every half hour.
BYOB discretely. It won't be illegal to drink in Hyde Park but they may search your bags on entry so be discrete about alcohol. We'll also double check the rules.
Parade Route: the parade runs from the corner of Bathurst/George Street, proceeding along George Street, turning right into Park Street then left into Elizabeth St, finishing up at James Street.
The festival ends at 6:30pm and I would expect that some people from the group may continue on to some Irish Pubs after the the festival. Which pub? How to meet up with us? It's too hard to know exactly how things will play out so you absolutely have to meet up with us in Hyde Park and see where we end up going. Don't expect to call someone or have us let you know when/where we're heading.
