Watching March Madness this weekend - host needed & how to watch

From: Benjamin

There are a lot of people who’d like to get together to watch some march madness either tonight(replays), tomorrow, or Sunday. If you would like to host and have a reasonable internet connection and live somewhat central, reply to this message and I’ll create a meetup event for people to watch at your apartment—I’m sure we can sort out an espn3 logon so that’s not necessary.

Whenever you want is fine. Tonight you could watch replays from earlier today and then tomorrow people can meet as early as 10/11am or later if you want to watch replays. My suggestion would be to stream live games from 11am on three laptops (maybe one connected to a TV) and then watch replays afterwards in the afternoon—make a lot of new friends and go for drinks later.

Otherwise if you want to join a bracket group or find people to watch games with, post on my facebook profile (profile wall, not the group).

How to watch March Madness

The US mmod (march madness on demand) app will not work in Australia. The best way to watch all the games is via ESPN3, which is a website that can be accessed by anyone with a foxtel login/password. ESPN3 will show about 3-4 feeds at a time switching between games, but with 4 feeds you really don’t miss much. These can be watched live or as replays via espn3. The quality is as good as your internet connection.

The foxtel ESPN & ESPN2 channels will also be showing a lot of the same coverage if you don’t have an unlimited high-speed internet connection—you can also watch games at bars on espn/espn2 although games air from 2am-2pm Sydney time so replays at people’s houses are best.
