Python is a general-purpose programming language that is becoming ever more popular for data. Our Introduction to Python focuses on Python for data science. You will learn basic programming skills using Python, including data handling, variables types, operations and functions.

This is a 7 hour course with 2 options for attendance:

Option 1: Two sessions including both Dec 10th and 12th 5:30-9pm

Option 2: Dec 14th 9:30am-4:30pm

The training materials including step-by-step instructions and exercises will be demonstrating in the class by our well experienced data scientists.
Course content:
Jupyter Notebook and Python code
Python data types
Writing python expressions
Debugging and resolving errors
Conditional and loop functions
Python libraries and functions
Import and export files
Pandas series and data frames
Creating basic graphs

Main instructor:
Maryam Montazer specialises in applied machine learning and statistical modelling. She has diverse experience spanning industrial and academic projects such as public health management, agriculture and dairy production, climate modelling, spatiotemporal data modelling and visualisation, wind generators and renewable energy integration, image and signal processing, time series analysis, bioinformatics, real estate and house price modelling, transport management, customer service and customer engagement.

Maryam holds a PhD in climate modelling (the University of Sydney), M.Sc. in Medical Engineering (Bioelectric) and BSc. in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering. She provides consulting services for data-driven project development.
Outcome: You will learn the basics of Python programming and will start coding after few hours training. Training materials will be provided which can be a useful reference for your future uses.
