We hear a lot about change management in business terms. Get an insight into what it can mean in professional terms from a very personal perspective.Fascinated by type and typography as I was from an early age, my career in graphic design so far has given me a sense of continuity through some truly inspirational mentors, as well as encompassing a huge amount of technological change. Nevertheless, there remain certain fundamental ideas which are still the bedrock of good design in the digital age. These will be up for discussion, but as GK Chesterton observed, way back when: "These things are too serious to be taken seriously".

Working around human failure.
Human failure is the single most frequent cause of business and IT disruptions and yet we hear so little of it in our workplace. Traditionally, mission critical systems accommodate and work around human failure in more ways than one but the same thought can be applied to any other workplace developing any other kinds of systems. Through air crash investigations and nuclear disasters I hope to emphasize on why it is essential for us to design our workflows and our systems to cope with human failure.
