Hack Your Hackerspace!

The shop is in need of a good cleaning again. So we're scheduling another Hack Your Hackerspace.

We currently don't have janitorial service so, things like cleaning the bathrooms, and floors, wiping down the table tops, and generally trying to at least keep the dust at bay, make a big difference if they don't get done. What's on the todo list:

- Floors need cleaned (vacuum carpets, and sweep and mop the hard floors. Someone bring a decent vacuum cleaner for the carpets)
- Clean the bathrooms
- Clean the floors in the general area
- Dust the sawdust off of everything in the danger room
- Wipe down the table tops and benches
- Sort through equipment to sort and tag what we intend to sell, off-site store, excess, or otherwise strip for parts
- Otherwise organize, put away, and make awesome the shop

Remember, always be knolling.

Since the previous coordinator decided not to show up. I need a new volunteer to lead this effort. Hopefully ti will be the first to arrive. I have found that the best way is to write tasks on the board and volunteers can just come in and pick a task without having to badger anyone too much. Common tasks are: Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, resetting/reorganizing the 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics, craft and danger room areas.

Basically you just need to be willing to open the shop, coordinate and encourage the the work of any other volunteers that show up and use your best judgement on how to do things.

I did not decide not to show up. Board members publicly said I was no longer productive, as such I felt it was impossible for me to represent the shop. Word have consequences and when you want to undermine volunteers then sometimes those volunteers quit.

Thanks to all who showed up. Sorry I had a family thing to attend on my end. Did it feel successful?
