This course is a continuation of a series for JavaScript beginners. It will cover a short overview of basic programming concepts and the Document Object Model (DOM), and will move on to introduce how to use JavaScript to interact with the DOM. This will include finding and modifying nodes. It will also contain instruction on events, listening functions, user inputs, and basic animations.

It would be best to have a working knowledge of HTML and introductory knowledge of JavaScript for this class. There are many online resources, including these free courses from Code Academy:

JavaScript: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-javascript

-Please bring your own laptop, NOT a netbook or tablet.
-Install a modern web browser (Google chrome, Safari or Firefox)
-Please download a text editor before the start of class. We recommend Sublime Text 2 or 3.

Lauren is studying web development with Start Fast Code in Syracuse, NY. She began learning Java and C++, which made the transition to JavaScript a breeze. She loves learning and testing her knowledge. She believes that going back to old projects and refactoring code, making it the best it can be, is essential to moving forward in the learning process.
