SCREENWRITERS' GROUP

A meetup group for active scriptwriters to share their scripts and script ideas and to gain feedback and constructive advice. A place for you to bring in new scripts and script segments to be read out and receive constructive feedback on.

This meetup is held the second Sunday of each month.

1.  This is an active writer's group. Feel free to ask questions if you're new. Please bring a sample of a script you are working on. Everyone is welcome and encouraged (but not required) to share some of their script and read aloud or have other members read aloud characters from a scene. Proper script formatting isn't required if you're new, but is encouraged. Scripts can be any genre or format, whether short of feature length.

2.  Constructive criticism is welcome.  What is constructive criticism? It's offering critiques in a gentle manner with positive suggestions for improvement.  It is NOT criticizing another person's work without offering suggestions for help or improvement.  We are a group meant to support and encourage each other to write, and to write better.

3.  Some light snacks and refreshments will be provided but please feel free to bring something if you'd like to contribute (e.g. chips, pretzels, soda, water, etc.)

RSVP "Yes" today - space is limited to 10 people and then there's a waiting list.  Preference will be given to returning members.

In a critique group, everybody benefits when one benefits, because we all pay it forward at one time or another.

Has submitting scripts electronically ever been considered? I'm part of a writer's critique group in Seattle (through Meetup) and we load what we want looked at under "Files" on the Meetup page. People can then bring and read each document via laptop, iPad, printed sheets, etc - whatever works for that person. It saves a ton on printing, both in cost and in the amount of paper used. Once things have been edited, the work can be deleted from "Files". Furthermore, only people signed up for the Meetup group have access to the documents.
