Taoist Tai Chi Society (tm) Internal Arts of Health Pages

People of all ages and level of health can benefit from tai chi. Designed to increase strength, flexibility, and balance, tai chi improves overall well-being and reduces stress. Over time, these internal arts reach deep inside the body to benefit the entire physiology and restore the calmness and peace of mind often lost through the excessive desires and anxieties of daily life.

Though tai chi is a martial art, in our practice the primary focus is on holistic health. Beautiful and
graceful to observe, the movements involve significant turning and stretching but are still gentle enough to
be practiced by people of all ages, sizes, and abilities, as well as each one's degree of flexibility. Health
benefits may include improved circulation, balance, and posture, increased strength and flexibility, reduced
stress, and improved mental focus and peace of mind. Medical research has shown that the regular
practice of tai chi can help mitigate symptoms caused by poor circulation, high blood pressure, arthritis, back
pain, joint pain, stiffness, respiratory problems, digestive disorders, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis,
and fibromyalgia, among other conditions.
