AZ Trail - Sahuarita Road

  • Nov 24, 2013 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Please wear adequate footwear and sun protection and bring trail snacks and plenty of water for you and your dog. This is an easy out and back hike so mileage will depend on when you turn around. Colleen will be hosting this Meetup. A description of the hike from Colleen: "This weekend I'm taking my older dog Lucky J on a simple and short hike out on the Arizona Trail in Vail. This trail has mostly flat terrain with mild rolling hills. We will be hiking for no more than two hours. This is a great hike for beginners. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can start on time. As always, hike at your own risk. "

Trailhead: Take I-10 east and exit at HWY 83 and head south to Sahuarita Rd then turn right (west). Drive over cattle guard and park on side of the road.

Several cool sections east of town. Pistol Hill, Gabe Zimmerman, Redington Pass, Oracle Ridge.

Kalab, new from the pound will have his first group hike. Black Lab mix, very gentle and inexperienced. Mountain biked this trail several times and worked on it nearby. Hiking southward and back?

I would really like to hike with this group, but Sundays mornings are not possible for me.
