Please wear adequate footwear and bring lunch and plenty of water for you and your dog. This is a a difficult hike: approximately 10 miles in length and 2500 ft elevation change. I hiked this recently and there was some snow on the trail so snow and ice could be present. That said, this trail gets a fair amount of sun and is at a low enough elevation that I am not concerned about there being excessive amounts. We will meet at East Cochise Stronghold. Hike time should be around 6.5 hours for experienced hikers. I know this is a drive and I am willing to carpool with anyone that can meet around Ina Rd. I have room for one or two people depending on the number and size of your dog(s), please message me if interested.

East Cochise Stronghold: From Tucson, take I-10 east 72 miles to US 191. Turn right (south) and drive approximately 18 miles to Ironwood Road in Sunsites. Turn right (east) on Ironwood Road. Continue on Ironwood Road (which becomes Forest Road 84 at the Forest boundary) for approximately 8 miles to Cochise Stronghold Campground. The cost of parking is $10 per vehicle. If you are trying to get an idea of drive time click on the "map" for this meetup or put @31.943943,-109.957830 as the end point into Google Maps. Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early so we can start on time.
