CLIFF CAVE PARK DOG WALK
Details
Good for beginners. Paved and fairly easy with a beautiful overlook view of the Mississippi. Should be tick free. Temps in low-mid 70's. Bring water for your dog.
One small/moderate hill, otherwise just rolling or level. Some of us might crawl down to the cave, or at least to the spring fed little creek that flows out of it. You can wait at the top, if you don't want to do that, but it will be muddy if we've had rain.
After we do the paved hill, we can walk down the big hill to the little 1 mile paved trail along the river. My favorite trail in this park. There is a river access there for the dogs, but you have to crawl down over a few rocks to get there. Then back up the hill to our cars. You don't have to do this part, you can leave after the first loop trail.
About 3-4 miles. Allow 2 hours.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Use meetup mapping or your GPS. We will meet at the UPPER PARKING LOT on the LEFT just before you start down the big hill to the river. Meetup mapping looks right when I click on it, but it seems to have a glitch sometimes. It's a big parking lot.
If you go down the big hill, you're in the wrong spot.
Bathrooms at parking lot.
