IL Horseshoe Lake State Park Sunrise Dog Paddle

Details
Meetup Info:
GPS Address: Horseshoe Lake State Park Boat Ramp, Lake Dr, Granite City, IL 62040
Where to Meet: North Boat Launch Ramp. There are two boat launch ramps, please make sure you are at the right one. You will enter the park and take the second right. The ramp is at the very end of that road.
There are restrooms at the park on the way to the boat ramp, but not at the boat ramp itself.
Details:
We will either paddle around the lake or just lazily enjoy being on the water, depending on what we feel like doing. Humans must have a life jacket with them (state law), but dogs are required to actually wear them.
There are no rentals. You must bring your own kayak/paddle board and equipment.
The boat ramp is not super big, so please set up your kayak and be ready to go when you are on the ramp. We don't want to hold up others if they also need to put their boats in.
The winds will be ~8mph. This is weather-dependent. I plan to be on the water a little early since sunrise is just before 6am.
If you want to join later, just let me know and you can catch up.
Requirements:
Attitude: Friendly dogs and humans only
Required: Life jackets for both humans and pups. Pups must wear them while out on the lake.
Boat and equipment
Dog necessities and plenty of clean water for them.
Notable Side Notes:
I am not a travel guide nor a certified rescue-anything. Safety is super important, so please know your limits and be careful on the water.
This will not be a power paddle. We stop frequently for pictures and general shenanigans. We will paddle at a pace the group is comfortable with, with no pup left behind.
Please do not be a no-show. My pups will have to listen to me complain about it the whole way home. Don't make those sweet pups have to deal with that.
RSVP's close 1 hour before the event. Please update your RSVP before that time. If something happens at the last minute, at least make a comment.
