GamesJS Meetup #4

Diane Bisgeier from Mozilla will discuss WebFWD:

Diane Bisgeier is Program Manager for mozilla's WebFWD Open Innovation program. At tonight's meetup she'll share more about WebFWD: what it is, why it's cool, and how you can be involved. If you have an open-source project or are interested in doing one, this talk is for you!

Ann Burkett, one of the GamesJS Meetup organizers will discuss the Game Dojos Accelerator:

Want the best industry connections and mentors for your game studio, platform or portal?

Applications are now open for teams in the game space to join us in a rigorous 3 month session of hands-on workshops, seminars, and mentorship with the leading producers, designers, developers, marketers, distributors, and investors in the industry. Lucas Wang will demo Mugeda:

Mugeda is a cloud based HTML5 animation platform, where you can create, share, and publish organic HTML5 animation contents, all in your browser, without any download or installation. The created animation content can be used in a wide range of applications like ads, games, tutorials, cartoons, and can be viewed on any devices including PC, smartphone, and tablets. In this event, we will focus more on how the animation can be used in your js based development.

BTW, Mugeda just won the first price award in a startup contest out of 356 teams (http://www.teec-angel.com/event).

Clint Walker will demo Roar Engine:

Clint Walker, Founder and CEO of Roar Engine, the fastest and easiest way to create a backend for cross-platform online games, will be giving an early developer preview of BoomBox. BoomBox is most simply described as Mochi Media for HTML5. It's an embeddable HTML5 game wrapper with a cloud backend that provides your game with a data management system, shops, inventory, achievements and leaderboards along with easy to use server functions and persistent storage.

Clint co-founded Roar Engine in December 2008 to create cross platform social games. Previously he had led Rising Sun Research (RSR), an Oscar winning technology start up, managing RSR's exit via IP acquisition that was rolled up by THX. With his domain expertise in building workflow tools for the entertainment industry, Clint quickly realized Roar Engine's strongest value proposition lay in the tools the company had built to develop its own games.
