Re: Regular Thinker Monthly Meetings and Film Meetups

To the Thinkers:
There will always be third Monday monthly meetings of the Tampa Bay Thinkers at the Cultural Center.  That venue is perfect for those meetings, not only The Center being very accomodating but it is relatively cheap and very central to the Tampa Bay area.
I am scheduling art film meetups with the Thinkers because I know that a number of our members are into films and I am trying to achieve a critical mass at those Art Film Freak showings by inviting the philosophers if the film is challenging (like the Anatolia film) and is on the Tampa/St Pete side of the Bay.  Will also eventually be inviting one of the humanist groups to the films as well.
I am having difficulty finding the perfect venue for the Freud/Jung film viewing and discussion but once I get it worked out it will work out.  I know a bunch of the thinkers want to participate  in that one.  I just need more time and I haven't had a lot of that lately.
There will always be the third Monday meetings that we have topics scheduled for March and April.  Sign up for the Thinker regular meetups for March 19 on Perspectivism:
And the April 16 meeting on Hermeneutics and Interpretation
See you there then or wherever.

Subject: [new-tampa-philosophers] Clarification, meetup time and data, Tampa Bay Thinkers

Just to clarify, so there is no confusion about this: the Tampa Bay Thinkers philosophy meetup will continue to meet on the third Monday of each month at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, Tampa, same as always. The next meeting is on Monday, March 19, at 6:30 PM.

Dale is writing in these memos about SEPARATE meetings that he is scheduling for members of TBT who wish to get together to see and discuss various films.

The next regular TBT meetup will deal with Perspectivism and will be hosted by Bob Muir. It's a fascinating topic, having to do with what kinds of claims to we can make given our limited perspectives and how we can interact profitably with others whose perspectives necessarily differ from ours. As always, looking forward to a wonderful discussion.

Warm regards,

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:
When: Saturday, March 24,[masked]:00 PM
Where: To Be Determined
To the Stinkers:
This meetup is still looking for a home that I have not arranged so it is being moved back two more weeks until I have things figured out.  By the time I figure it out, we will all be cured or our neuroses.
Plus I have replaced this with a showing of a supposedly profound film at Eckerd College on Friday March 9 that is to be announced.  Show up to that one if you can.
