Ukulele Open Mic at the Whistle Stop Grill

Ukulele Open Mic at the Whistle Stop Grill takes place on the fourth Thursday of every month from 7-10pm. The Whistle Stop is a casual, family-friendly place with outdoor dining and a full menu. Here is a link to their website:

Be sure to sign up for the open mic when you arrive and have a few songs prepared. Players of all levels are welcome to perform in this supportive environment and I'll have my u-bass handy in case anyone would like some accompaniment. We'll end with an unplugged jam session, so be sure to bring your uke and "The Daily Ukulele" songbooks* even if you don't plan on participating in the open mic.

Please don't forget to support our host venue by ordering something off the menu which features a great selection of drinks, appetizers and ice cream.

*The Daily Ukulele books are not required and folks usually don't mind sharing, but if you'd like a copy you can order them online from Flea Market Music or pick one up at Sam Ash.

Good fun at the Whistle Stop! The Felopian Tubes were awesome! The last hour jam was my first and it was a blast.

I am going for sure, but have to drive the van which could break down. Sheesh, I had made plans to take the little car, but Vinny's drummer had car probs so now Vinny is taking the Hyundai and I get the Van. Wish me luck! I def need to hook up with some Tampa folks to arrange commuting together. Once the van is fixed it will seat 7 people easy with room for our instruments. Van needs a transmission. Anyone know a good and reliable tranny guy? LOL.

I arrived approx 6:45 and had trouble finding parking last time and gave up on getting in. Is there a secret parking lot off to the side or something that everyone uses? :-) Any friendly suggestions?

There is usually street parking along Main Street and a public parking lot on the right just past the Whistle Stop Grill if you are travelling east towards the spa. There are also spaces along the railroad tracks if you turn right just past the Whistle Stop Grill. I've never had to park more than a block away.
