Alaska’s Ukulele Russ & His One-Man Frontier Band announces a winter tour of the South with spine-tingling and funny-bone hitting ukulele performances in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee like you’ve never seen! Fresh off of the trails of Alaska, Ukulele Russ has dozens of new songs he’s compiling for a album to be released in 2019. His humor has been compared to Danny McBride and George Carlin, and he uses loop effects that he records live to add ambiance to re-imaginings of Snoop Dogg, Garth Brooks, Van Halen, and Frank Zappa songs to name a few.
This workshop will be an all on hands experience as Russ teaches you how to work both left and right hands on tremolo strum, harmonics, palm muting, and thumb strumming. Be ready to laugh your way to brilliant playing! Russ will be appearing at our 2019 Getaway as well, so you will get the advanced lesson there! This lesson will be at all levels, and then will be followed by a concert.
Ukulele Russ and His One-Man Frontier Band takes audiences on a humorous, storytelling adventure into the arctic wilderness of Alaska as he sings and speaks about hunting moose and living through 40 below temperatures in his dry cabin in Fairbanks.
You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind, one-man show experience that will take you on a ukulele-driven tour of at least five decades of American music with many laughs and audience participation that will draw you in and have everybody shouting for an encore!
