Re: [libertarian-388] Re: Gary Johnson 2012 Yard Signs

Please avoid an all-out pitch-battle with the Ron Paul Libertarians.  They are great in number and share most of our objectives and goals.  In Tarrant County, the Republican Ron Paul faction and the Tea Party have taken over the County Republican Party.

For those of us running for state offices as Libertarians, a battle with either of the parties at the local level works against those running.  There is no way a Libertarian can win office in most Texas urban counties without the support of both Republicans and Democrats.  For some of those in both of those parties the thought to spliting their ticket is a big leap.

So far, our campaign has been successful in winning the hearts and minds of some of these folks.  Let's not ruin the progress by shooting ourselves in the foot.

Agreed. They are all about fixing the R party which is too deep into corruption in my opinion.

Which means we shouldn't support the Ron Paul campaigns support they would give Romney if that campaign claimed they'd endorse Paul family projects.

As appreciative as I am of what Dr. Paul has done for Liberty, I agree that we are not obliged to follow in their every footstep.

Undoubtedly even if the Romney campaign threw the Paulfamily a bone they'd still be creating other statist programs or building up our military (spending) as he's always bragged he'd do or he'd be engaging in some other Corporatist agenda profram. Well said Jeff.

I might take the "lesser of two evils" approach more seriously if I didn't know full well that we would hear it from Republicans even if that party nominated Hugo Chavez, and from Democrats even if that party nominated David Duke.
