Have you heard about the latest developments in the 5G debate?

New 5G networks will be able to attain mind-blowing speeds by using submillimeter, and millimeter waves at frequency ranges above 6 GHz to 100 GHz and beyond. The trouble is high-frequency waves can carry more data, but they can’t carry it far. So, carriers have to build massive infrastructures containing thousands of small transmitters.

The technology companies naturally are pushing for a fast rollout, but citizens who will have to live near these towers aren’t so sure. Portland’s city council recently voted for two very different options.

Not to mention that the FCC is not as neutral as it should be...
