The meetup login does offer the ability to authenticate with your Facebook account, but it is just an alternative, not a requirement. I’m pretty sure this is where the confusion is coming from.
Hey all -
I've gotten multiple comments in the past week that indicate people who wish to join the meetup seem to think Facebook is required.
Doctor Who meetup is handled through meetup.com - NOT Facebook. All group related communication happens on Meetup. While people can cross post to Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media that Meetup links to, none of these additional memberships are required to participate in Meetup.
Is there a screen popping up or some other notification I haven't seen?
