Many of us here at Children’s Fairyland are also parents, so we get it. Taking care of a young child full-time can be exhausting… and, at times, isolating and lonely. So, for all you Bay Area caretakers of toddlers out there, we've created something new. We invite you and yours to a low-key morning get-together inside our magical mid-century park in Oakland. It's primarily about making connections with other grown-ups in real life. But, we also offer you and your kids the freedom to spend the day playing in the fresh air.
And, yes, there will be tea. Or drip coffee, or hot cocoa. Your choice. First one's free.
We’ll first meet outside our fairy gates at the big Shoe at 9:45 a.m. (If you’re not familiar with this iconic feature, it’s where the "old woman" has lived since we opened in 1950.)
Then at 10 a.m., we'll head in and gather in our Circus Party Area, where you can grab a beverage, on us. We'll give you a quick intro to our nearly 70-year-old park, and to each other, before walking over to catch Toddler Storytime, our popular read-aloud event that happens twice every Friday. From there, you can walk over to catch our latest puppet show, or maybe hop on your first Jolly Trolly ride, or visit with our gentle animals, or just head out for nap time.
What we provide: An insider's look at Fairyland, the opportunity to be part of a fledgling, f2f parent-focused community, a Magic Key, and 10 acres of fun.
What you bring: Yourself, your child(ren), and $12 admission per person (cash or card: advance tickets are encouraged http://bit.ly/teatoddlers) for each of you. That's it. We'll handle the rest.
Even if you don't make your new parent BFF here, you might just have a pleasant time escaping a little with other adults who understand.
