When: August 21,[masked]:00 PM

Silver Moon Brewing Company
24 NW Greenwood Ave
Bend, OR 97701

The Meetup for August has been changed to August 21st.

The Tech Alliance of Central Oregon, will host Roger McNamee as a guest speaker for our kickoff event at The Silver Moon Brewery before his band Moonalice performs for the public.

The Tech Talk is free, but you must purchase tickets to the concert separately. Hand stamps will be checked!

The Tech Alliance supports the existing Central Oregon technology community and helps build the emerging technology infrastructure for our region. The Alliance is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and has partnered with the Software Association of Oregon (SAO), a well-respected statewide non-profit organization that serves as the umbrella organization for Oregon?s software, hardware, online, IT and other technology firms.

Roger will talk about the mobile industry, and draw from his extensive background in technology startups to talk about innovation in the industry.

Roger is Managing Director and Co-Founder of Elevation Partners, a key investor in the Palm and Move. He has been investing in technology companies since 1982. After nine years at T. Rowe Price, where he ran the top-ranked Science & Technology Fund, Roger joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to launch the groundbreaking crossover fund, Integral Capital Partners. In 1999, he co-founded Silver Lake Partners, the private equity fund focused on technology. In 2004, he co-founded Elevation Partners, where he serves on the boards of Palm and Move. Roger?s best known venture investments include Electronic Arts, Sybase, Intuit, Flextronics, Overture, Blue Nile, Informatica, Cerent (acquired by Cisco), and Facebook. His private equity investments include Seagate, Datek (Ameritrade), Gartner Group, Palm, and Move.

At night, Roger is a co-founder of Moonalice, a band that played 102 shows in 2008. Moonalice is

GE Smith (former band leader of Saturday Night Live, Bob Dylan, Hall & Oates),

Pete Sears (Rod Stewart, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna),

Barry Sless (Phil Lesh & Friends),

Ann McNamee (Ann Atomic, Flying Other Bros.),

John Molo (Bruce Hornsby, The Other Ones, Phil Lesh & Friends),

Roger McNamee (Flying Other Bros.), and sometimes J

Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna).

The band?s album was produced by T. Bone Burnett.

Moonalice has been particularly successful at using social network tools to build its brand. With more than 90,000 followers on Twitter and 6,000 on Facebook, Moonalice has pioneered music broadcasts over social networks.

This will be a fun event! Networking, beer and pizza start at 5:00, the talk starts at 5:30 and you can hang around after to talk or buy more beer. Please stay for the concert - you'll have to buy a ticket, $10 at the door.

We're meeting in the brewing room of Silvermoon, so you can enter through the double doors in the back parking lot. The band will be loading in through the front door.

Space will be limited to 60 people, so RSVP now.

Thanks - looking forward to seeing everyone!
