Come join our board game "Line" group, you'll have to download the free "Line" app if you haven't already. Once you've joined our group, you can chat, help organize, post, and/or attend our board game events, no charge unless we are meeting at a board game cafe that charges a fee. There are usually weekly games at a variety of different locations in Bangkok, but it all depends on who's chatting and organizing the next event. We've been meeting for more than four years, and now there are over 150 of us, spreading the joy of playing board games and meeting new friends, hope you can join us. And if board games aren't your thing, and if you're interested, you are invited to join our Trump Therapy "Line" group to help prepare yourself for the 2020 elections in the United States. Share your thoughts and links, vent, cry, scream, and commiserate with like minded people in our group. Add me to your "Line" contacts and I will add you to our group. But due to my busy schedule it won't be possible for me to answer all your questions on Meetup, but you are welcome to ask the people in our "Line" group. My "Line" ID is bradley.jordan
Welcome to our Table tennis group. We are a friendly group who love Table Tennis. We usually play Saturday afternoon and some weekday evenings at Chulalongkorn University at the Google maps location below. If coming by BTS National Stadium is walking distance or Sam Yan if you're coming by MRT. https://maps.app.goo.gl/DznhhMgpcEiH4SDp9 We meet on Saturdays and some of us who want to improve our game meet mid week in the evenings, from 5.30 up to 9pm, (usually Monday and Wednesdays). We usually tell each other if we'll go using our Line app group (which you can join too if you join us). The venue is a dedicated table tennis room (no air con but has large fans at the seating area for cooling down) with 10+ good tables. The fee to play is just 50 Baht for regular sessions payable to Chula staff directly (our organisers receive no money from members for the venues). Please sign in the guestbook on the table inside the entrance when you arrive and give 50 Baht to the staff or put in the box in the table. You're welcome to arrive late, stay beyond the finish time or arrive earlier than the scheduled times (they are open from about 10am to 6pm Members can play anyone who is at the venue. Changing rooms with showers are available and bring a bottle of water or a refillable container as there is cold filtered water available free in the table tennis hall. There are rackets to borrow free of charge at the venue but they are not great quality so if you plan to play regularly you can buy a cheap pre-made racket at most major shopping malls or get a custom made one at one of several shops in Bangkok. Regular members may be able to lend a racket newcomers the first time if you let us know before that you need one. We look forward to welcoming you to our Meetup soon. Thanks for joining
Saturday 20th of July - John Lynn! After a sellout show for KVON , regulat host Matt and Stagetime Comedy brings us another star of international comedy. "The rising star of Irish Comedy." - Sunday Times Ireland's John Lynn’s easy going laid back delivery makes him an instant hit with audiences. At his peak, Lynn is like Tommy Tiernan played at the wrong speed: relaxed in his incredulity at his domestic situation rather than ranting and raving at it. John first caught the stand up bug after a visit to a comedy club in Dublin and quickly discovered that making a clown out of himself wasn’t all that bad. He instantly made a splash in his native Ireland with his laid-back delivery and natural stage presence and within eight months of his first gig, appeared on TV in RTE’s The Liffey Laugh. He was invited to join Irish Star PJ Gallagher as a special guest on his Irish tour and grasped the opportunity with both hands. Soon after, he was starring alongside the legendary Tommy Tiernan in the Third Policeman’s Ball, a tribute to the Irish writer Flann O’Brian. Recorded at the famed Dublin venue of Vicar Street, the acclaimed event was released on DVD in 2009 and launched John as a powerful performer in his own right. He later appeared in BBC’s One Night Stand, Encouraged by these early achievements, John took the plunge and decided to give-up his day job as a secondary school teacher and the Irish Films Actors Studio beckoned and John began training for the screen, alternating acting with stand-up. John has been headlining at comedy clubs and a hot at comedy festivals all over the world for yen years Including the prestigious invite only Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. He was subsequently invited to tour around South Africa, coinciding with the Lions Tour, as well as appearing on stage in America, Europe and the Middle East. He has also been a regular at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival and made his long awaited debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011 with his first solo show Social Networking. In 2012 and 2013 he was invited to join Tom Stade as a special guest on his nationwide UK tours playing to packed houses across the UK. On screen, other credits include romantic fantasy Earthbound, in which he starred alongside Rafe Spall (2013) and Satellites and Meteorites Rick Larkin’s feature, for I – Wire Films (2009). Television appearances in Ireland include Be More Ethnic (BBC 3), Stand and Deliver (RTE), Republic of Telly (RTE), Podge and Rodger (RTE), The Apprentice: Your Fired (TV3), The Craig Doyle Show (RTE ONE) and Butchers (RTE. In theatre, John has appeared as Bush in Rank, a play by Robert Massey as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival, which later transferred to the Tricycle Theatre in London. He also appeared in Lane Productions staging of Robert Massey’s Deadline. John has signed to NBC Universal on a development deal to record his first stand up DVD. He has also just completed his first novel, having earned a coveted place on The University of East Anglia’s creative writing program.
