The Sportsman

Sukhumvit Soi 13 Unit 10/22 Trendy Condominium · Bangkok

The Sportsman (2nd Floor) is on Soi 13 Sukhumvit near Nana BTS. Walk down Soi 13, it is right after the German Bar.

Hi everyone:

We will have our next travel meetup on Tuesday, August 27 at 7 pm. I (Ric) will be the host of the event, and you can learn about my travels here. We have great speakers sharing great travel stories.

I am very excited to announce we have a great sponsor for our meeting.

Lemi is a travel platform designed to save, map, and share recommendations anywhere in the world. Download the free app for iOS and Android, and start discovering new places, and creating your own lists to share.

Lemi is also excited to be a sponsor, and will be sponsoring a free drink for all meetup attendees (if you download the App)!

We will be playing Travel Trivia at our meeting after the speakers with the opportunity to win some prizes. Lemi will be sponsoring our grand prize, of 1000 Baht.

Our event is at the Sportsman on Soi 13, on the 2ND FLOOR. Sportsman will be on the right about 500 meters down the road. The Sportsman (right after the German bar) on Soi 13, is very convenient, a quick walk from BTS Nana. For more information on the location, parking, etc, go to this link:

The meeting begins at 7 pm and members have stayed as late as 11 pm socializing after the presentation. And if you need to come late, that is no problem too!

There is no charge for this event, FREE! And thanks to the Sportsman (our great host with Live Lounge) there will be drinks and food offered with special discounts.

First Speaker: Matt Mayer

Matt is a British mobile app developer, travel addict and dad, who has been living in Asia for the past 15 years in Chennai, Shanghai and now Bangkok. He has been to 68 countries but now calls Thailand home.

Matt will be talking about how he smuggled his way into the Beijing Olympic Village by accident, avoiding Chinese security and creepy mascots along the way.

Second Speaker: Paul Moore

Paul Moore is an American blogger who has been living in Bangkok for
many 4 years. He is retired and enjoys being a traveling foodie. He enjoys writing and photography and has been keeping himself busy writing articles for his travel and food blog, Chow Traveller.

Paul will be speaking on his adventures in Egypt.
