Madagascar Group Trip
Madagascar Group Trip. OK, this one has been on the bucket list for a long time. And now there is a plan to visit Madagascar in August of 2020. And I would love it if you joined me on this trip. Not 100% definite yet, but this country might mark a milestone as being my 150th country.
Check out the disclosure at the bottom of the page.
Who did I partner with?
I have partnered with G Adventures, a global provider of trips around the world. In fact, it offers tours in over 100 countries. G also has a commitment of giving back and supporting the local community through travel and investment. I have taken two trips with G (Namibia & Zimbabwe and Uganda & Rwanda) and a third planned (Japan). I feel both comfortable and confident in partnering with G.
Why a group tour?
Madagascar is a challenging country in several ways. It is giant, its two times bigger than United Kingdom. Infrastructure is lacking with approximately 8,000 km of paved roads while (going with the UK comparison) the UK has nearly 400,000 km of paved roads. And Madagascar sees about 500,000 visitors a year with the UK welcoming 40 million strong. In other words, this is a good country to skip independent travel and join a tour. Let them handle the logistics.
What to see?
I am not a Madagascar expert, as I noted, this is my first visit, which I am incredibly excited about. But I knew enough to ensure that we saw two things … lemurs and the Avenue of the Baobabs (the unique trees). You can take a full look at the agenda here.
This trip starts on August 25th and ends on September 4th of 2020 (plenty of time to plan). It will both start and end in the capital, Antananarivo. I chose this time to avoid the rainy season which is from January through March. During our trip it will be drier and cooler.
It is a big country that is difficult to travel around as I mentioned. So I tried to strike a balance of making sure we covered the highlights without spending an inordinate amount of time in the country. The trip will be 11 days.
The price per person is $2049. I find this to be a good value. It covers our guide, our hotels, all domestic travel (including an internal flight) and some meals. Of course, there are extras like international flights which you are responsible for.
If interested in joining me, please let me know. G has set up a number to book this trip …[masked] and please reference OP-30471 – Madagascar Adventure with GlobalGaz.
Check to see if you need a visa. Thai passport holders get a visa on arrival.
For more information, take a look at the page set up by G Adventures.
If you join me in Madagascar, I would like to thank you. I will be gifting a $100 certificate from Amazon after the trip has ended.
Yes, I am earning a fee from G. And I have worked with them as a G Wanderer (sort of like a brand ambassador). Or If you buy from Amazon, I will earn a fee.
