What is Yoga? 🧘🧘♂️
The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word Yuj meaning to yoke, bind, join, attach and union.
It is the connection of the body, mind and spirit. We form this connection through our breath and our Asana practice (the practice of yoga postures). The more we practice the more we build an awareness of this connection.
Why Is It Beneficial? 🙌
Although Yoga or our Asana is a physical practice ( and only 1 Limb out of 8 Sutras) its main purpose is to prepare our awareness, our connection to the body, mind, breath and spirit for meditation.
The Booklet: 📖
The booklet works through the basics of Yoga, breaking down the fundamental poses that make up a general Yoga class or practice. The booklet includes 4 breathing techniques (Pranayama); Mudras; How to press into the hands and feet; A number of beginner friendly postures - What to do/ What to avoid/ Alternatives and their benefits; Sun Salutations.
The Focus: 👀
As we flow through a beginners class attention will be brought to Pranayama(Breathing techniques) Sun Salutations; Posture alignment and engagement, including modifications on these postures, ensuring that the class fits your level of experience. Ending the practice/ Workshop with Savasana (Relaxation) and Yoga Nidra (Guided meditation) is the welcomed sweet release 🤤🌈🦄
The Intention: ✨
The purpose of this workshop is to provide our new and fellow yogis with the confidence and knowledge to tackle any Yoga class they would previously feel too intimidated by joining.
"The hardest part of any journey is taking that first step.''
Sabrina Asana Tribe / Asana Tribe is here to get you started on your yoga journey and practice! She'll be guiding you through these early steps by teaching you more about this enlightening practice and the positive impact it will have on your life.
Who Is This Workshop For? 🖤
This is a great option for beginners and absolute newbies who want to become more comfortable with the finer aspects of the practice, as well as being a great class for regulars who want to fine tune theirs. We can always come back to the beginner's mind -
