The Nutcracker at Amarillo Civic Center with drinks to follow at Paramount Club

Join us for the Lone Star Ballet production of The Nutcracker at the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, December 12, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. This long-running Amarillo production is quite good, comparable to the performances in larger cities. If you’ve never seen The Nutcracker before, don’t worry, the plot makes more sense than most holiday family gatherings. And the music is fantastic - the Amarillo Symphony always delivers.

We’ll plan to meet in the Civic Center lobby at 7:15 so there’s time to say hello before the show starts. I have three extra tickets available for $33.50 each. If you’d like one, please contact me directly. Our group seats are in Left Center, on the middle-aisle side about halfway up. After the performance, anyone who wants to keep the evening going is invited to head over to the Paramount Recreation Club, the speakeasy bar in the basement of The Barfield hotel on Polk. The Paramount started life as a Prohibition-era hideout and has been revived as a low-key spot for classic cocktails, vintage spirits, and light bites, reached through a discreet entrance downstairs. Should be a fun night, see you guys out there.
