Waves of Grief Second Sundays
Details
Join us in circle on the Second Sunday of each month for Waves of Grief in San Diego, held at Fletcher Cove Park from 9:30am–11:30am.
These ocean-based gatherings offer a gentle, community-centered space to navigate grief and loss together-building connection, reducing isolation, and finding support in and around the waves.
We begin together in a circle on the sand, with simple grounding, reflection, and optional sharing. You are invited to participate in whatever way feels right-whether that means speaking, listening, or simply being present.
All grief and grievers are welcome, including those moving through loss, life transitions, or collective experiences. No prior ocean experience is needed-come as you are!
After circle, we gently open into the shoreline, inviting you to connect with the ocean in your own way—whether through walking, wading, swimming, boogie boarding, or surfing. Please bring any gear that helps you feel comfortable and supported.
Waves of Grief Second Sundays are donation-based to keep them accessible while supporting the continuation of this work.
These gatherings are part of a year-round Ocean + Surf Therapy program, held by the Waves of Grief Collective—a community of clinicians, facilitators, and individuals with lived experience—coming together to honor grief, foster connection, and cultivate meaningful, nature-based healing practices.
🚗 Park in the lot or free street parking. We will be set up to the left - a short walk down the beach - look for the colorful blankets and fresh flowers.
