What we’re about
The Global Village aims to be just what the name suggests, a place for people from all around the world to cohabit and thrive in. We want to create a safe, productive, inclusive and fun space you never want to leave!
TGV is an attempt to build an online global community of people who are interested in making positive, productive, supportive and joyful connections with people from around the world. It’s an online space where you can meet people and share whatever part of your life you mutually agree to share with them. Whether you want to be part of an online co-working space for remote workers, want to play fun online games with others, expand your professional network, have meaningful and empathetic discussions about your feelings or learn about different countries and cultures from around the world, TGV aims to host events that cater to all these needs and more.
Additionally, TGV is a space for co-creation and we are always looking for our members and participants to drive new initiatives, suggest new events and organise meetups around themes that interest them. We aim to host events related to the following broad themes but we revel in the unusual, the unorthodox and the offbeat, so throw your wildest ideas at us and this might just be the place to try them out!
Professional - global connect, think interdisciplinary, etc.
Social - panel discussions, virtual happy hour/coffee hour, talent shows, etc.
Arts and Entertainment - live music, music streaming, book clubs, open mic, etc.
Games and Sports - event screenings, discussion events, online games, etc.
Language and Culture - city tours, cultural show and tell, language practice rooms with native speakers, streaming local festivals and celebrations, etc.
We are committed to keeping you safe and thus we have a strict zero tolerance policy for any sort of behavior that causes harm to others in the group. We err on the side of caution while taking necessary steps to ensure the physical, mental, emotional and cyber security of all our members so you too would be well advised to err on the side of caution while presenting your best side, in terms of your behaviour towards others. Let’s be our best selves!
