" The Gift of Trauma " - London Retreat

Details
Trauma is a commonly used word and is often associated with major incidents such as car accidents and war. A landmark study in 1998 however identified Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) which refer to traumatic events that occur in childhood and are strongly associated with long-term health, behavioural, and social outcomes.
The original ACE study identified 10 categories including abuse, neglect and household dysfuction.
ACEs can disrupt childhood development and increase the risk of mental health issues and chronic diseases. The physician Gabor Maté says that most mental illness is a "normal response to the abnormalities of the society in which we live".
This response from the body is a wake up call to look inside.
Eckhart Tolle's teaching on suffering centers on the idea that it's often a necessary part of the journey towards realising one's true self and living in the present moment.
Join us on July 12th when we will explore, with the aid of teachings from Eckhart Tolle and others, how trauma is a gift in realising our true nature.
" I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening."
Peter A. Levine
