Join the Noir Luxe Society for an unforgettable evening of movement, culture, and artistic brilliance as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Northrop. Described by The New York Times as âtransfixing, pulsating and galvanizing,â Aileyâs dancers continue to push the boundaries of physical expression and emotional storytelling.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Alicia Graf Mack, the company honors Alvin Aileyâs legacy while ushering in a bold new era of contemporary choreography. This performance features a dynamic program of new works alongside timeless classics culminating in Aileyâs iconic masterpiece, âRevelations.â
A cultural treasure performed around the world since 1960, Revelations explores the depths of grief, resilience, faith, and joy through African American spirituals, gospel, and blues. It remains the most widely seen modern dance work in history.
